Drake Well Museum

No trip to the Northwest Pennsylvania oil region would be complete without a visit to the Drake Well Museum.  Signs in Titusville clearly direct visitors to this site.  In addition to the museum building and display, the grounds comprise a working layout of an oilfield.  There is also a Pre-Columbian archaeological site, "America's First Oilmen".  An exact replica of the Drake well and engine house including its Long John steam engine is a much photographed site and point of great interest to the visitors.

Special events are held in the Drake Well Museum and grounds and is also open daily.  For more information contact the Museum at 814/827-2797, or RD #3, Box 7, Titusville, PA 16354.
